2- You cannot vote for yourself, on any of your faces. This will be monitored.
3- All nominations will be anonymous. Names will be stripped out, please keep it that way, and vote strictly on the writing quality.
4- You cannot badger people to vote for you. If caught harassing people, any submissions will be forfeited.
5- You can only submit a submission to one category per face, to allow for fair chances for everyone.
We don't think so, no. We are going to strip names out of the writing to make it more unbiased, and each person can only submit to one category. In this way, we hope to make things more fair for all involved. This isn't about faces, photos, and profiles, it's about the writing. We want to showcase that.
When will winners be posted?
On May 9th, we'll roll out the red carpet. Wear your best, because there will be a photo event as well! We'll post the winners there in batches, allowing the winners to post a little "acceptance speech" if they'd like.
What do we win?
Winners will receive a custom banner showcasing their win, and be featured on the RPL admin page.
How do we submit?
We have set up a Google form for this, to keep things as unbiased as we can. To submit, go to https://goo.gl/forms/hkzkfQCpERztg0dl1, and fill out the information along with your post. Once we receive the email from the form, we'll post your writing as the Accolade page where it can begin earning "likes".
Does it have to be new writing? We'd prefer new writing, yes. The Accolades was created to be a fun event where we celebrate our writing. We'd love to see NEW writing from everyone. It's not required, no, but we hope everyone would write something new for it.
Can I do a couple post for romance? Any posts that have more than one person needs to be in the Co-writers/Group writing category. The others are for solo writing.
Is the length longer for co/group writing? Due to popular demand, we have opened this category up to longer posts. We'd prefer they be kept under 3000 though, for ease of reading.
Can I do a co/group writing post and a solo post on my character? No. If your character is in any category, they cannot submit to another one on that character.
Are there rules to voting? Voting will be explained on April 1st, when the voting officially starts. We'll go through how to vote then.
What if I'm sure someone will recognize my writing? This is partly why we'd like new writing. We understand we might not be able to keep everything completely impartial, but we'd like to do our best to at least try.
Can I post the writing on my RPL account after submitting? Please don't do this. This comes down to the anonymous/impartial thing again. You can post any new writing you did for this event AFTER May 9th, when the winners have been announced.
What if I don't like these rules? The Accolades are not mandatory for any user. It's meant to be fun. If you don't like the rules, don't agree with how we're doing it, or are one of those that doesn't like to lose without a fit, you don't have to participate. For the rest of us, we just want to share new writing with others, and have fun with this.
Do submissions need to be in story format or is script style okay?
Whichever you like! For most categories, they're solo, so story form is perfectly fine. For the group/co-writing one, we understand most would write those in script style for ease of writing.
Hopefully that's cleared up any confusion, we look forward to seeing the awesome submissions rolling in!
