We're getting many, many emails about functions that some think are missing or are buggy. So to clarify a little, we wanted to write a quick explanation of how the script itself works, so everyone can understand the limitations.
To begin with, the main "package" is called the core. What we bought in the beginning is the main core script. These are the basic functions of the entire social networking site. Then, for anything extra, we have to either buy an add on, code a plugin, or hire a developer. So what we have is the site itself. We paid to bring you the customized "Poke" feature, and custom items on the site that are made for roleplaying, like the relationships and other things of that nature. We paid for a full blocking system. Now, there are some things that we'd love to have, but have not found an option yet. Basically many of the features of Facebook are not available to us yet or might never be.
So, when you come to us with suggestions, or ask about something and we tell you that we'll have to look into it, please don't think we're just pushing you aside. We are looking, checking the feature request trackers, checking available add-ons. But some things just are not capable of being implemented now, as the feature itself does not exist. We're doing the best we can with the limitations that we have. Our main goal was a safe, secure place with functions that enabled us to roleplay in peace. We think, on the whole, we've managed to deliver on that.
However, we wanted to let all of you help decide what are the most important features for YOU personally. If there is something we missed that you feel would be valuable, add your own comment and users can like your idea as well. Once we see the features that are truly wanted, we can talk to the developers and get a beginning price range for what we'd need to raise to be able to make them work. Remember, some things are impossible simply due to the limitations in code. We will try to find options, but in the end, every site is only capable of doing what the core coding will allow it to do.
We are run on donations only. So when we do find out how much certain features are, we WILL need to do fundraising and things to be able to actually offer new features if the cost of the requests eventually go past our "Features" kitty we've been building up. This is just to sort what is "most wanted" to ask about first.
Note, mobile apps are not currently something we are looking at, please respect that.
