Last year, we paid to have a custom blocking system developed for the site, as the original script did not have this feature. We also upgraded the servers to handle the load. We didn't do this so that people could still act like fools. It is up to you to unfriend or block someone that is bothering you if their actions don't warrant a report. It is up to you to adjust your feed to your personal tastes, by removing people that are posting things you'd rather not see.
To block someone, go to their page and hit the orange button with a white triangle in it. This is located next to the "Send a Message" and "Add to Friends" buttons. Select "Block this User" and confirm it. That's it! If you decide in the future to unblock someone, simply go to Account-Privacy Settings-Blocked Users. Select the name you wish to unban, and click "Save Changes".
If you are a group admin or founder, remember to go to your groups and remove the person's account BEFORE blocking them, or admins will have to log into your account to fix it. We don't want to have to do that, so be sure to take care of it yourself before blocking another user.
BULLYING & HARASSMENT
BLOCKING means that the person does not want to interact with you on ANY face. If you are blocked by an account, and proceed to lurk on there on other faces, or send friend requests on other faces to sneak back onto their friends list, that is a violation of the TOS and infractions will be sent for EVERY account in violation. So if you have 3 accounts on there, that equals 3 infractions. We also should remind people that at 3 infractions, the system will auto-ban. Once is a mistake. More than that is a choice, and will be treated accordingly. If a friend of yours tags someone in a post and you know the person they've tagged has blocked you, don't click it or comment on it, it's not for you.
SEX RP is not wanted or welcomed by everyone. Talk to people first, don't just dive into smut. It's rude. If the answer is "no", then respect that. If they say they are in a relationship and won't write sex with others, respect that. If you consistently harass people for adult roleplays and refuse to accept no for an answer, you can be reported for harassment. There are plenty of people here who want to dive into relationships and smut rps with anyone who asks. Go find them.
JUMPING INTO RPS is rude. If you see someone posting with another and it looks interesting, it takes less than a minute to message them and ask if it's an open roleplay or if the banter is just for those people already on it or tagged. If you post and your comment is deleted, it means you were the one in the wrong, you jumped into a private RP, and the profile admin had every right to remove a post. You don't get to then go into messages complaining that they had the nerve to delete a comment, to post ranty hissy fits in the feed, or to report them to admin for being "mean" to you. If you post a comment on someone's profile and they don't want to respond or have nothing to say, it's their profile, their business, they can ignore it or delete it as they see fit.
RESPECT REAL LIVES. People have real lives. People have other accounts. People have shit to do. You don't get the right to demand all of someone's free time. You definitely don't get to demand that they only have one account, or that they ignore other accounts because of you. You don't get to be insanely jealous over a roleplay character because they dared to flirt with your writing partner on another face of theirs that you aren't actually with. You don't get to demand personal information to suit yourself. People here do not have to bend over and placate you. If you consistently attack others, you WILL be reported for it. Posting private information is against the Private Facts Act and you will be instantly banned if caught breaking the law. No negotiations.
DRAMA LLAMAS NOT WELCOME. Spreading things around to your entire friends list just causes more issues and in the end, admins won't be able to suss out who the actual troublemaker was. Running this site and handling issues is our job. Do what you can to protect yourself and keep issues down on your end, and if that doesn't solve it, admins will. People should be allowed to breathe easy here on RPL, to relax and write. If a user is constantly found causing issues and making people uncomfortable here, they will be asked to leave. If you flout the TOS and skirt just under it thinking you're smart, you're not, and eventually admins and users will get fed up and you will be banned.
SCREENSHOT. We cannot see what the report was about if the person deletes it after you click the report button.
DO NOT antagonize. If we cannot see things on their page but see a bunch of rants about the situation on yours, guess who looks like the problem to the admins if we have no other proof to the contrary?
DO NOT click on a random thing to report something else. IE, a "Hello" photo to report someone bullying somewhere elsewhere on the site. We cannot track down these things without the users showing us WHERE they are.
DO NOT attempt to harass your harasser yourself or with your friends. If all hell breaks loose, all people involved will get infractions for not following proper site procedure. We are the admins, you need to let us handle it as we can take care of it far better than you can yourself, and then you don't risk being part of the problem as well.
DO read the site TOS, the nudity guidelines, and the Helpdesk blogs. We've gone over what is a TOS violation and what we consider bullying. We've posted many times about what counts as a nudity violation as well. Please do check these first. Consistently filing false reports is frowned upon here, so DO check everything to make sure you know what you're reporting is, in fact, a violation.
